善意のマモノ | The Benevolent Evil Entity

Requested by Dasty Enoch. As Releska once said, translating RD lyrics feels like some sort of great responsibility. I have to wonder if I was perhaps too slack when working on this.

If there’s one painful part of translating, it’s trying to fit words like ようかい and あやかし into English. Translators of old, such as Lafcadio Hearn, took the cheap way out by calling everything goblins. Examples include calling kitsune “goblin-foxes” and tanuki “goblin-badgers.”
