Siren

Been loving this album, mainly the second half.

Notes: I had to look up 蟲毒, and apparently it’s a thing originating in China from old times where you get a bunch of bugs together and isolate them in a jar, wait a while, and afterwards, you use the last one standing and it haunts your house. This brings good fortune to you, but you gotta offer humans, or you’ll be killed. In order to not die, you dump all your new wealth on the streets, and the next person to pick it up will be the new haunting victim. Because they don’t know about it all though, they will likely be killed by the bug. I tried to keep it simple for the context of the song though.

<rururira> watashi no koe o <rururirarira> urandemasu ka
<rurarirarira> tada mugamuchuu ni uta o kanadeta dake nanoni

Do you hate the sound of my voice?
Even though I only got carried away and played my song

Ah…

Ah… kou shiteiru to
mumyou no tamashii o chuudoku ni sasete shimau
kankaku ya shikai sae mo subete kuruwasenagara

Ah, when I’m doing it like this
I always end up cursing those ignorant souls
all the while driving their senses, vision and everything mad

<rararira> inochi no koe ga <rururirarira> kikoetemasu ka
<rurarirarira> tarebito ni mo tsuki sasaru kokoro ubau shirabe
<rararirarira> tatoeba itsu ka <rururirarira> kareta toshitemo
<rurarirarira> kurayami no naka de datte mata utai tsudzukeru no deshou

Can you hear the voice of life?
This tune that can pierce anyone’s heart and steal it away
For example even if someday you withered away
because we’re in the darkness, I bet I’d still continue to sing

Ah…

Ah… kou shiteiru to
seotta kizuato ga iyasarete yuku kara de
hontou wa jibun no tame asu o shinjitai dake

Ah, when I’m doing it like this
the scars I bore heal and fade
so the truth is, I only want to believe in tomorrow for my own sake

<rararira> kanashii neiro <rururirarira> hibiitemasu ka
<rurarirarira> ikue ni mo kasanari ai kokoro o moteasobu
<rararirarira> kanata tooku e <rururirarira> rifurein shite
<rurarirarira> sore demo ooku no hito ga mata mitasarete yuku no deshou

Is this sad range of sounds resonating?
It’ll layer up and up and toy with your heart
Far off beyond it refrains
But even so plenty of people will still be satisfied won’t they

<rararira…rururira…>

amata no haoto koyoi mo yobi yosetara
goshiki no senritsu hanatsu tame ni tsubasa o furuwasu no

If I called over countless sounds of wings this evening too
we’d shake our wings in order to let off a sonata
Upon sending your heart out to the lullaby sung for you
when you were young, you’ll dance elegantly

<rararira> inochi no koe ga <rururirarira> kikoetemasu ka
<rurarirarira> tarebito ni mo tsuki sasaru kokoro ubau shirabe
<rararirarira> tatoeba itsu ka <rururirarira> kareta toshitemo
<rurarirarira> kurayami no naka de datte mata utai tsudzukeru no deshou

Can you hear the voice of life?
This tune that can pierce anyone’s heart and steal it away
For example even if someday you withered away
because we’re in the darkness, I bet I’d still continue to sing
